Hidden Beauties of Bolu

Bolu is one of the most enchanting provinces of Turkey located approximately half-way between Istanbul and Ankara. Bolu is famous for its dense forests, beautiful nature, fauna and modern hot spring facilities.

Bolu is home to many natural beauties. There is no limit to the activities you can do in Bolu. Now I want to tell you about the 3 most important places in Bolu in terms of natural beauty.

1.Lake Abant

Lake Abant is an amazing natural beauty in the province of Bolu and is one of Turkey's most popular destinations for local and foreign tourists all year around.

Lake Abant is a lake which is beautiful in 4 seasons. but I love the winter because it is a more calm and peaceful environment compared to summer. In such times, you can go to Abant Çamlık Restaurant located next to the lake and watch the lake and the snow-covered mountains and drink salep or hot chocolate.

In addition, if you go in the spring and summertime you have the chance to do more activities. For example, you can rent bikes and ride bikes by the lake, ride horses on a private road next to the lake, have a picnic in the picnic areas, hike, buy natural handmade products from the open-air market in Abant.

2.Golcuk Nature Park

Golcuk Lake is an artificial lake. Golcuk Nature Park takes its name from the small lake in it. If you go in the winter and enjoy the view of the frozen lake under the snow, if you go in the summer a chirping environment, if you go in the spring is a picture of autumn dominated by different colors.

My choice is to go in the spring and winter, and the pleasure of the two kinds is completely different. When you go in the spring, you feel more energetic with the enthusiasm of the lake scenery and the magnificent colors of nature.

In winter you can still walk around the lake, you can take photos of the lake around different angles. you can also go to Golcuk café right next to the lake. This wood-covered café gives the atmosphere of a chalet with the fireplace inside. The breakfasts and herbal teas are indispensable.

3. Yedigoller (Seven Lakes) National Park

Another wonder of Bolu is the Yedigoller (Seven Lakes) National Park. The name comes from seven small lakes in the area, which are connected to each other by underground and overground waters.

Yedigoller National Park is my favorite place to go in Bolu. Yedigoller is breathtaking when full leaves are colored in the most beautiful autumn. Colorful trees reflected in the lake is a wonder of nature. My advice is to go to the seven lakes, which are flooded with photographers and tourists every year, early in the morning. Sometimes people from the crowd can't enjoy the moment.

There is also a camping area in Yedigoller you can take your tent and make your grab in the camping area but do not forget to take something thick with you Bolu can be very cold at night even in summer.

Also, if you get hungry in Yedigoller there is only one buffet. You can eat sandwich-style stuff from there. We suggest packing your own food.
